This site has been created with a lot of help from a close friend, Antony Maria Joseph. Anto was with me in college in Trichy, and has been the creative edge of our team. The site would not have been possible without his creative and technical skills. Special thanks and a big hug to him.

I have been working on development issues since the late 90s culminating in the Ph.D. that I’m in the process of finishing. Over the last few years, I have been wanting to contribute to public debates based on my engagement with social issues in India. This blog was started to fulfil that purpose in a small way. A considerable part of this website is dedicated to issues of development including issues such as the right to food, education, corruption, and other social issues.
This website has five major themes: Development issues, media (movies, documentaries, and webcasts), technology, academic discussions on the social sciences, and random fun stuff that a blog simply cannot do without. You can access all the posts on these themes by clicking on the topics to your right. If you know the specific article you’re looking for, you can also search for it using the search box on the top right of your screen.
I created this website with the intention of documenting articles, webcasts, and other online materials that I come across everyday. Consequently, you will find a lot of links to external websites indexed as “useful links”. You will also find a number of reviews of books and movies , and finally there are a number of articles based on my field experience.

The layout of the site was adopted from www.alistapart.com., a site dedicated to building great websites. Thanks also to all those who have contributed to building WordPress and the various plugins that lie behind the technical core of this website.
